How to match a vial batch to its certificate

A practical checklist for comparing batch, sample, laboratory and report date, and checking discrepancies.

By Honduras Péptidos · Published October 29, 2026

The name helps; the batch allows comparison

Two vials may have the same name and nominal quantity but belong to different batches. A certificate associated with one batch should not automatically be presented as documenting the other. Start with complete identification before focusing on purity percentage.

Comparison checklist

  1. Find LOT, BATCH or LOTE on the label. Copy the complete code, including prefixes, numbers and hyphens. A quantity such as 10 mg or an expiration date is not the batch number.
  2. Open the original PDF. Use the catalog link and check the report’s Lot or Batch field. Do not rely only on a screenshot of the percentage or a label image.
  3. Compare the code and sample. Also compare sample name and presentation. If a supplier uses a different catalog name, ask for the correspondence to the document to be explained without altering the original.
  4. Locate the laboratory and report number. These details identify the document being reviewed. A logo alone does not verify a report’s origin.
  5. Distinguish the dates. Receipt date, report date and expiry date have different roles. Do not infer an expiration date from a test date.
  6. Read results and limitations together. Check method, unit, specification and notes. The document concerns the tested sample; it does not itself verify the received vial’s integrity or subsequent storage.

A real example: MOTS-C

The MOTS-C 10 mg page and published COA show batch MVR-MOTS-002. The Freedom Diagnostics PDF lists report 2608250011, received August 25 and reported August 26, 2026. These are different identifiers to check separately.

What if something does not match?

Keep the PDF you reviewed and a legible label photo. Ask the distributor for the document corresponding to the received batch or a written clarification. Do not fill gaps by assumption or treat a discrepancy as a typographical error without confirmation.

A matching batch is a document check, not independent proof of each vial’s authenticity. If the laboratory offers its own verification system, use its official site and compare the report identifier.

Sources and scope

The examples come from the linked original COAs, not a test performed by Honduras Péptidos. As a general reading reference, the WHO certificate model brings together sample and batch identification, tests, results, criteria and dates. The reference does not imply WHO endorsement of these vials or laboratories.
